Changing & Creating Habits
I will tell you sending that first email out last week was stressful. I felt ill afterwards and immediately noticed that an unsubscribe right away. Instead of letting that bother me because I received a few amazing email replies in response and that right there is why I’m doing this. Sometimes unfollows & unsubscribes sting, but what I’m doing is intended to make giant splashes, not tiny ripples, so I have to be okay with those people just not being my people.
Anyhow, let me tell you about the woman I want to become.
There is quite a large disconnect from the woman I am and the woman I want to be, so I wrote a list of all the things that chick does, that I don’t. Some things were tougher fixes like, she sleeps 8 hours a night and she is attacking the things at work she has put on the back burner. Some were simple like, she takes her damn multi-vitamin every day and gets outside once a week to enjoy nature.
I took this list and I decided that I would work on two things at a time for two weeks before adding in two more things. I also told my husband what I wanted to do so I’d have a bit more accountability.
It can get overwhelming if you try to do too much at once. You’re also more likely to get burnt out faster and just quit altogether. We all want progress and change NOW, but it doesn’t work like that. Patience, consistency and commitment are everything.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Is there a gap between who you are and who you want to be? How can you create habits to bridge that gap? What have you found that is helping you?
I hope you are enjoying the hell out of your Sunday <3
Big hugs and bootie slaps,
